October 2000

October was a very exciting month. First, we had a big picnic with friends at Walden Pond where we discovered that Jack strongly prefers Coke to Pepsi (and why not? Thanks to our friend Chris, Jack owns some shares of Coke). Then our cat Sebastian died. For Columbus Day weekend, we visited Jack's Aunt Kris and her family in Manchester Center, Vermont and saw some incredible foliage and Jack cut his first two teeth! Then we had our first snowfall (what is that all about?), a big visit with Jack's great Aunts and Cousin, the start of regular visits to the park near his grandparents' house, our first use of the infant Heimlich maneuver after Jack ate a leaf that had fallen onto him while swinging outside while our backs were turned, and then Jack's first Hallowe'en!

Not long after this, Jack ate a leaf and began choking. Luckily, we'd taken a course and knew what to do.

Swimmin!
No, he can't crawl yet

More swinging on that cold day (yeah, the pictures are out of order)

And swining on a warm day!

Ah, fall!

Look closely, you can see his new teeth!
